Steel vs. Aluminum: Which Used Tank Is Right for You?
Steel tanks are more compact for their air capacity and are often negatively buoyant, which many divers prefer for better trim and less weight on the belt. Buying a used scuba tank should never be a gamble. Before any cylinder leaves our shop it receives a current visual inspection (VIP), and we confirm the hydrostatic test date stamped on the crown. If a tank needs hydro or a VIP, we tell you up front. We also fill and service what we sell, so you have a local shop standing behind your purchase.
