Return & Refund Policy

At Sink or Swim Scuba, we want you to be confident in your purchase. Because scuba equipment is specialized—and in many cases considered life-support or electronic equipment—we maintain a clear return policy to ensure safety, fairness, and compliance for all customers.


Return Window

Return requests must be initiated within 14 days of delivery.

Requests submitted after 14 days will not be approved.


Return Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for a return, items must meet all of the following conditions:

  • New, unused, and unaltered

  • Returned in original packaging with all manuals, tags, accessories, and components

  • Free of any signs of use, including wear, scuffs, odors, water exposure, installation, assembly, or activation

Items that do not meet these requirements may be refused or returned to the customer at the customer’s expense.


Non-Returnable / Non-Refundable Items

For safety, hygiene, manufacturer restrictions, and resale limitations, the following are not eligible for return or refund:

Products & Equipment (Sales)

  • Any item that has been used, worn, submerged, installed, assembled, or modified

  • Life-support equipment, including but not limited to:

    • Regulators

    • Buoyancy compensators (BCs)

    • Rebreather components

    • Surface-supplied air equipment

  • Dive computers, transmitters, cameras, lights, or electronics that have been activated, registered, paired, powered on, or removed from sealed packaging

  • Scuba cylinders (tanks), valves, or cylinder accessories

  • Lead weights / ballast

  • Items marked clearance, closeout, used, or as-is

  • Special-order or custom items

  • Gift cards

  • Digital/downloadable products

Services, Training, Digital Access, Travel & Reservations

  • Training and course fees (including deposits and class/session bookings)

  • Air fills (including Nitrox/Trimix/oxygen fills and any breathing gas fills)

  • E-learning and digital training materials

  • Promo codes, discount codes, gift codes, or coupons

  • Equipment rentals (including daily/weekly rentals and any rental deposits once the rental period begins)

  • Travel reservations, trips, charters, and guided dives (including trip deposits, reservation fees, and any travel-related charges)

Return Authorization Required (RMA)

All returns require prior authorization.

Unauthorized returns may be refused.


Return Shipping & Responsibility

  • Customers are responsible for return shipping costs, unless the return is due to our error

  • We strongly recommend using a trackable and insured shipping method

  • Sink or Swim Scuba is not responsible for items lost or damaged during return transit

Original shipping charges are non-refundable.


Refunds

Once an approved return is received and inspected:

  • Approved refunds will be issued to the original payment method

  • Refunds are typically processed within 5–7 business days after inspection

  • If a returned item does not meet eligibility requirements, the refund may be denied and the item may be returned at the customer’s expense


Damaged, Defective, or Incorrect Items

If your order arrives damaged, defective, or incorrect:

  • Notify us within 48 hours of delivery

  • Please include photos of the item and packaging when possible

We will work with you to resolve the issue promptly.

Exchanges are handled on a case-by-case basis and are subject to product availability. Please contact us for assistance.

Trip payments are subject to vendor/operator policies and may be transferable at our discretion” —
