This used Hollis and Dive Rite backplate-and-wing BC system is a custom-configured scuba BCD originally set up for a public safety dive team. Its overall design is very similar to a Hollis ST Elite 2 BC system, combining an adjustable padded Hollis harness with a durable stainless-steel backplate and Hollis buoyancy wing.

Unlike the standard wing normally included with an assembled Hollis ST Elite-style system, this configuration uses a larger Hollis 55X wing with approximately 55 pounds of lift. The higher-lift wing was selected to support the additional equipment, exposure protection and operational demands commonly associated with public safety diving, search-and-recovery diving and cold-water scuba applications.

The system is currently assembled as a complete, ready-to-service backplate-and-wing BCD and includes:

• Hollis padded, adjustable harness system
• Hollis integrated weight pockets
• Hollis 55X high-lift buoyancy wing
• Dive Rite stainless-steel backplate
• Single-cylinder mounting straps
• Corrugated inflator hose and power inflator
• Lower pull-dump valve
• Attached hardware shown in the photographs

The stainless-steel backplate provides a rigid, stable foundation while adding useful non-ditchable weight. The padded harness offers greater comfort and adjustability than a basic continuous-webbing harness, making this setup well suited for divers who want the durability of a traditional backplate-and-wing system with the comfort of a recreational-style BCD.

This is a custom mixed-brand configuration and is not being represented as an original factory Hollis ST Elite 2 package. However, it offers a similar overall design with a larger-capacity wing selected for heavier-duty PSD use.

The system is configured for a single scuba cylinder as pictured. Because the 55-pound wing provides substantially more lift than a typical recreational single-tank wing, the buyer should confirm that the configuration is appropriate for their cylinders, exposure protection, weighting and intended diving environment.

Condition

This system is used and may show normal cosmetic wear, scratches, fading and marks from previous use. Please review all photographs carefully, as they are part of the product description.

As with any used scuba BCD, the entire system should be professionally inspected, inflation-tested and serviced before diving. The bladder, inflator, dump valve, harness, buckles, integrated weight releases and mounting hardware should be checked by a qualified scuba-equipment technician before use.
