The Atomic Aquatics HEC Open Heel SplitFins with Spring Straps in large fuchsia are premium scuba diving fins designed to provide efficient propulsion, reduced kicking effort, dependable comfort, and easy entry and removal. This large size is intended for approximately US men’s shoe sizes 9–11, US women’s sizes 11–12, and EU sizes 42–43 when worn with appropriate dive boots.

Atomic Aquatics constructs these fins from its lightweight High Energy Compound, or HEC. The buoyant material is engineered to reduce leg fatigue while maximizing thrust efficiency during recreational scuba diving, travel diving, extended dives, surface swimming, and diving in moderate currents.

The split-blade design uses Atomic Aquatics Propeller-Fin technology. Each kick causes the two sides of the blade to form wing-like surfaces that channel water through the center split, reducing drag while generating forward propulsion. The design performs especially well with a smaller-range, more frequent flutter kick and can provide sustained speed with less effort than many conventional paddle-style fins.

Flexible power rails store and release energy during the kick cycle, while semi-rigid flex battens help maintain the blade’s intended shape. Flexible hinge points allow the blade to react quickly to movement, and the large blade surface supports pivoting, turning, flutter kicking, and alternate kicking techniques.

The anatomically shaped open-heel foot pocket is contoured to reduce pressure points and includes a semi-open toe for comfort. An internal power plate creates a stable platform beneath the foot, transferring energy into the blade without making the foot pocket unnecessarily stiff or uncomfortable.

Integrated stainless-steel spring straps automatically adapt to the diver’s foot and changes in depth while maintaining a secure fit. The spring straps also make the fins easier to put on and remove, including while wearing gloves. Atomic’s patented EZ-LOK buckle system allows one-handed buckle release and secure reattachment.

The bright fuchsia blade provides a distinctive appearance and increased visual recognition around dive boats, shore-entry areas, training sites, and other divers.
