Halfway Through the DEMA Show 2025: Building Connections & Exploring the Future of Diving

The DEMA Show 2025 in Orlando is officially at the halfway point, and what an incredible week it has already been! As the owner of Sink or Swim Scuba, a 5-Star SDI Instructor Training Center near Charlotte, NC, this event is one of my favorite opportunities each year to grow, learn, and connect with the broader diving community.

A Week Packed with Education, Innovation, and Industry Leadership

From advanced training seminars to product demonstrations from the top manufacturers in the world, DEMA has delivered nonstop value. We’ve sat in on fantastic educational sessions, explored new gear updates, and had the chance to deepen partnerships that help us bring the best equipment and training back home to divers in Charlotte, Gastonia, and the entire Carolinas region.

Whether it’s recreational scuba, technical diving, or Public Safety Diving (PSD)—DEMA always provides the tools and knowledge we need to keep improving.

The Best Part? The Dive Community

One of the most rewarding parts of the DEMA Show is the people. There’s nothing like looking across a crowded expo hall and seeing other shop owners, instructors, and manufacturers light up when they recognize you. Having folks literally run over just to say hello reminds me how strong and supportive this industry really is.

The diving community is a family—spanning states, specialties, and backgrounds—and it’s a privilege to be part of it. Every handshake, every conversation, every new connection helps strengthen our mission at Sink or Swim Scuba: to build confident divers and serve our community through high-quality training, gear, and support.

Bringing New Value Back to Our Divers in NC

As we meet with manufacturers and partners, we’re lining up exciting opportunities to bring home:

  • New gear options for recreational and public safety divers

  • Better training tools and course updates

  • Expanded equipment lines, including drysuits, full-face masks, and surface-supplied systems

  • New relationships that will benefit our students and PSD teams

This show isn’t just about looking around — it’s about making sure our divers back home get the very best the industry has to offer.

More Updates Coming Soon

We’re only halfway through the show, and there’s already so much more to share. Stay tuned for more updates from Orlando, and be sure to follow our journey as we meet with vendors, test new gear, and bring back exciting developments for our dive community in North Carolina.

Whether you’re a recreational diver, a student preparing for your open water class, or a member of a public safety dive team, we’re committed to staying at the forefront of the industry so we can serve you better.
