Dive with confidence! Sink or Swim Scuba boasts nearly 20 years of safe diving instruction. Learn why our minimal "accident record" is a testament to our commitment to safety.

At Sink or Swim Scuba (www.sinkorswimscuba.com), we've been dedicated to sharing the wonders of the underwater world for nearly two decades. Before opening our doors, I spent years assisting with dives, accumulating over three decades of diving experience. In all that time, we've maintained an exceptional safety record, and honestly, we're proud of it.

You might be thinking, "Proud of an accident record?" Let me explain.

Across our extensive history, we've only had two incidents that could even be remotely considered "accidents" related to our classes.

  1. The Sprained Ankle: During a checkout dive day at our local quarry, students brought family members to watch from the shore. While we were submerged, a cousin, not a student, tripped and sprained his ankle in the parking lot. While unfortunate, this incident was in no way related to our diving instruction or in-water activities.
  2. The Finger Incident: In a recent class, a student, during our pool training, revealed he was still wearing a glove. Upon inquiry, he explained he'd injured his finger earlier in the week when he accidentally dropped a scuba tank on it. This occurred outside of our scheduled class time, and was not a result of any unsafe practices during our instruction.

In nearly twenty years of business, and over thirty years of diving, these are the only two instances we can recall. That's it.

Why This Matters to You (and Us):

  • Safety First: At Sink or Swim Scuba, safety is paramount. Our meticulous approach to instruction, equipment maintenance, and dive planning minimizes risks.
  • Experienced Instructors: Our decades of experience mean we've seen and handled a wide range of situations, allowing us to anticipate and prevent potential problems.
  • Comprehensive Training: We prioritize thorough training, ensuring our students are well-prepared for any dive environment. We emphasize proper handling of tanks and gear.
  • Peace of Mind: When you dive with us, you can relax and enjoy the experience, knowing you're in safe and capable hands.
  • Community and Family: We view everyone as part of our diving family. The Quarry incident while unfortunate, shows that even when not diving we are still a group.
